Scarborough Valley Bridge
Metal Stitching Services Limited were hired to carry out repair work on Scarborough Valley Bridge, built in 1865 and of historical significance.
Numerous portions of the bridge required our attention: pieces of the bridge had come away and needed to be replaced, extensive cracking on the base plates of the lattice panels and on the lighting columns.
Cavity Repair
The corner piece has completely fell away from the column, exposing a hollow cavity.
We fabricate a replacement piece copied from another corner. Here it is being installed.

On-Site Stitching
Before
An example of the lighting columns after crack detection. It is now marked for stitching.
After
Both cracks have been drilled for stitching and we begin to insert stitches in to the lower portion, greatly enhancing the strength and longevity of the lighting column.
Base Plate Repair
